Mount Burdell Bird Walk

Join Jack and Corrina for a summer walk on Mount Burdell. We’ll enjoy the tag end of the birdsong season and look for young birds from summer breeders, including potential Bullock’s orioles, lark sparrows, house wrens, lazuli buntings, violet-green swallows, and various flycatchers. We’ll also enjoy the year-round attractions of Mount Burdell, including bluebirds, acorn woodpeckers, and the magnificent oak trees.

We’ll be meeting at the main trailhead on San Andreas Dr. (see below for directions) at 8:00 AM on Sunday, July 14 and wrapping up around 10:00 AM. Note that this walk includes a few miles of leisurely walking on fire roads with a few hundred feet of gentle elevation gain. There are no restrooms or other facilities at this preserve.

Wild Birds Unlimited bird walks are intended for persons in reasonably good health and physical condition. Participants must be capable of walking over uneven terrain and be adequately prepared for the prevailing outdoor conditions. By registering for this walk, I acknowledge that participation entails known and unanticipated risks, including personal injury to myself and others and property damage. Notwithstanding these risks, I wish to assume them by voluntarily participating in these activities.
